Overview:

  • The monitoring Video Wall page for Meraki MV cameras is a feature that allows users to display video streams from multiple Meraki cameras simultaneously on a single, large screen display or monitor
  • This is particularly useful for monitoring multiple camera feeds at once, either in a control room, security operations center, or other locations where it's important to observe live video from different angles or locations at the same time
  • Per Cisco, you can use a video wall to conduct investigations by seeing an event unfold across multiple cameras. From any wall, you can utilize the Motion Search and Share video features

Video Wall Layouts

  • From the Meraki Dashboard, video wall layouts can be defined and refer to the different ways in which video streams from multiple cameras can be arranged and displayed on a single stream. A video wall supports up to 16 video tiles
  • The layouts are essentially grid patterns that determine how the video streams will be presented visually
  • These layouts help improve situational awareness and provide a streamlined approach to real time surveillance in a variety of environments
  • Per Cisco, creating video wall layouts is network-wide and requires network admin permissions. However, any camera admin with view permissions to a camera in the network will be able to see video wall layouts, as long as they have access to at least one camera within that layout. All other layouts where they cannot view any camera within the layout, will be hidden

Rotating Video Walls

  • Meraki offers a rotation feature for selected video walls, referring to the ability to automatically rotate or cycle through multiple video feeds from the different cameras in a video wall setup
  • Instead of displaying all camera feeds simultaneously in a grid layout, rotating video walls allow for sequential viewing of different camera streams in a predefined order
