Overview: 

  • The monitoring Clients page via the Meraki Dashboard provides admins the ability to manage and view detailed information about clients/devices that have connected to the Meraki network 
  • This page is a key feature in the Meraki's Dashboard, offering admins insights into client behavior, status, network usage, and tracking purposes

Client Overview

  • Per Cisco, the client overview page displays helpful information about client status, connection type, network usage, operating system, IP & MAC addressing, and additional statistics that can be displayed by adding additional columns 
  • Clients appearing on the Clients usage page will display their current status to indicate if they are currently active 
  • Per Cisco, if a client does not pass traffic for longer than one minute, then the client will no longer be considered active

Wireless Client Overview

  • Per Cisco, the client overview page of a device connected to an MR access point includes a list of client details, the device's connection status, policies, data, and application usage

Additional Features

  • Edit Client Name
    • This feature can be used to rename a client for easier identification and management
  • Edit Policy
    • This feature allows the changing of policies on a per-device basis
  • Revoke
    • Resets the authorization method forcing the client to re-authenticate
    • In a Splash page setup, this can be useful to test the splash page in a live environment with a specific client
